Mass Audubon Wellfleet Sanctuary Fiddler Crabs on Shore
Several fiddler crabs, distinguishable by their unevenly sized claws, navigate a muddy surface speckled with water droplets. The dominant crab in the foreground, with one claw noticeably larger than the other, reflects clearly in the shallow water, accentuating its unique adaptation. The surrounding area is occupied by more crabs, all similarly engaged in exploring the wet, dark terrain under a soft light that casts subtle shadows and highlights on their forms.
