Colorado National Monument Scenic Grand Valley Landscape
Colorado National Monument rim overlooks the Grand Valley. Arid, terracotta-colored slopes textured with rough scrub brush descend toward a lush mosaic of deep green vegetation and residential developments. Rectangular, bright blue artificial lakes contrast sharply with the muddy brown currents of the river under bright, hazy daylight. Distant, hazy blue silhouettes of the Book Cliffs mountain range span the horizon, creating a layered sense of depth against the valley floor.
